CÍGLER SOFTWARE and KARAT Software work together
KARAT Software has supplemented its portfolio with Money S5 - a new enterprise information system from the company CÍGLER SOFTWARE. The aim is to strengthen the position of both companies in the Czech and Slovak markets and to address a new group of potential customers - smaller companies for which the enterprise information system KARAT is either too large or too costly. A long-term solution at which KARAT Software aims is to gradually offer to the users of the older solution - ISO information system - a conversion to the new enterprise information system Money S5.
The enterprise information system Money S5 is aimed at small- or mid-sized companies that require modern solutions with comprehensive functionality as well as high flexibility and smooth implementation. A layered architecture of Money S5 is based on .NET 3.0 and the Microsoft SQL database server 2005. The product was introduced in the market in 2007; in the same year, it won the Microsoft Awards competition and gained the title IT Product of the Year 2007. There are four language versions available – Czech, Slovak, German and English. In April 2008, the product will be introduced in the Slovak market as well.“We have been considering for quite some time whether to program our own solution for the customer segment of small-sized companies that would replace our older ISO product,“ a vice-president of management and a director of KARAT Softawre Branislav Ludva comments on the cooperation between both companies. “In the end, we decided to concentrate our development potential solely on the development of our main product KARAT and to serve this customer segment by means of a third party. The Money S5 system is one generation younger than all other systems in this category in the Czech market and takes advantage of the most recent technologies.
Because of our experience with smaller and mid-sized companies (IS ISO), we have participated on developing some modules of the Money S5 system. In particular, we supplemented the system with many functions and specific properties of the IS ISO. With the help of a unique integrated Metadata Manager, we were able to quickly prepare a transfer data bridge for our current IS ISO customers. The switchover to the new system is thus absolutely undemanding, and the cost is low. In the Czech highly competitive environment, such cooperation between two important producers of enterprise information systems is absolutely unique.“
Both companies want to continue their cooperation by developing a common strategy for the Slovak market, where CÍGLER SOFTWARE is currently in the leading position among the Czech ERP software producers (according to the TOP 100 IT in SR chart, 11/2007) and KARAT Software is strengthening its position thanks to many important IS KARAT implementation projects.
“Our cooperation in terms of common products can be viewed as a signal for the Czech market with enterprise information systems that entails – in my view – too many Czech producers and solutions compared to the number of potential customers,“ explains Martin Cígler, the chairman and director of the CÍGLER SOFTWARE company. “In the end, it is the customer who suffers from this, because many of the smaller Czech producers do not have sufficient resources to finance their development and implementations departments. Due to our sharing of developmental capacities and a common approach to Czech and Slovak markets, not only will we have sufficient resources to make our software better, but we will also be strong enough to expand to other markets.“
